Birch Box Feb ’16

Each month I thought it would be nice to do a post of what I received in my Birch Box and give a little review on some of the products, what I liked and didn’t like.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Birch Box, let me explain. Birch Box is a monthly subscription box in which you get sent 5 hand picked, beauty items to try out each month for only Β£10 + p&p. You get a mixture of high end, exclusive and cult makeup, skincare, fragrance and hair care.

The first product birch box showed a glint of on their Facebook and I was excited to receive it. It is from spectrum and it is their tapered powder brush.

This is what birch box say about the product.

“This vibrant hand-finished brush makes light work of powder application (whether that’s setting powder, shimmery highlighters, or your fave  bronzer) thanks to the precisely-shaped tip and super-soft tapered bristles. Oh, and it’s absolutely gorgeous!” RRP Β£7.99

I find this brush so easy to use for blush or highlight but find it difficult for bronzer or contour, I feel it doesn’t blend as well and the finish is as great as if I were to use it for blush or highlight. I love the look of this brush, bright and bold colours makes it stand out.

The second product is by birch box new range, Love of Colour (LOC). It is their one and done shadow stick in champagne problems or perfect cents.

This is what birch box say about the product.

” STOP PRESS! What you are about to experience is birch box first in-house makeup brand that we are SO excited to share with you. So what can you expect? Up to 11 hours of crease less, waterproof colour in one handy stick, that’s what. This nifty formula has been created by our in-house product development team to eliminate the need for multiple brushes, blenders, and primers, and deliver effortless on-trend colour in one easy swipe.” RRP Β£8

I absolutely love this product! It is AMAZING! Thee colour is beautiful and blends amazingly” it is a perfect colour for under eyeshadow or in the inner corner, but can be worn alone and still looks good. It is really creamy and soft and stays on all day.

The third product is a hair product, its from Parlor by Jeff Chastain. It’s their smoothing blowout spray.

This is what birch box say about the product.

” a cult miracle tonic for blotting out frizz, protecting against heat damage, rendering hair more manageable and able to hold a style for longer. Bonus point for the addictively peachy, woody scent.” RRP Β£16

This product is good and does what it says on the bottle, which doesn’t always happen. It makes my hair really soft and slick after I’ve blow dried it can get away with not straightening my hair afterwards. It also smells good too.

The fourth product is by Delarosa. It is their crΓ¨me acquaconfort.

This is what birch box say about the product

” when your complexion is feeling a little lacklustre, this rejuvenating cream uses sweet aloud, apricot oils and vitamins A, C, and E (phew!) to nourish and smooth dehydrated skin without weighing it down – Devine!” RRP Β£34

This product makes my skin feel really smooth and soft. Looks glowy and heathy after its soaked into my skin. It’s doesn’t smell too bad, not strong or over powering. I don’t think I would pay Β£34 for it after using this bottle up but if it was to be on sale I might.

The fifth and final product is a blush. It is from theBalm cosmetics, Frat Boy blush shadow.

This is what birch box say about the product

” the secret to a youthful complexion? A rosy glow! Fake the radiant flush with this pretty suits-all-complexions blush.” RRP Β£15.50

It is a really nice peachy pink colour, perfect for someone with fair skin. It does say you can use it as blush or shadow, for me it is a bit too peachy for an eyeshadow but perfect for the cheeks! I found it really pigmented but can be blended out for a softer look. Little too over priced for blush.

Bonus product!

In this months box I got given a bonus product. It is a Purdue by Catherine Malandrino.

This is what birch box say about the product

” the finishing touch to any beauty routine has to be the fragrance, and we HEART this one from fashion designer, Catherine Malandrino. Sophisticated yet fruity ( we’re talking mandarin, red grapefruit, and pear)” RRP Β£50

This perfume smells AMAZING! I love the smell of ties perfume. It is very fruit, musky scent but perfect for all day wear. Day into night fragrance. I am definitely going to buy a big bottle of this perfume.
